PC-3000 SCSI and SAS : list of tested controllers (with universal utility)

Tested OK
- Adaptec ASC-1405 PCI-Express (From AceLab site)
- Adaptec ASC-1045 PCI-Express (From AceLab site)
- P6T WS pro Motherboard internal card chipset Marvell 64xx/63xx SAS controller


Tested NOT COMPATIBLE
- Card HP 8INT Port SAS (PCI-X) with a chipset LSI LOGIC 6208A2 LSISAS1068

Why can we use data extractor with this type of drive (SAS) ?
why only make clone ??? Is it so different from SCSI ???

Is possoble in the PC3K SCSI Tools acess the SAS Service Area ?

Or just clone it as a normal disk with DE ?

Late answer, but yes!

The kit PC3K SCSI + adaptec 1405 card is able to access SAS fw

It can read modules, tracks, rom, perform head tests, head maping, translator regen, all the good stuff

I confirm , that only Adaptec SAS-adapters mentioned above (Adaptec ASC-1405 and Adaptec ASC-1045 for PCI Express bus) are compartible with PC-3000 SCSI equipment. Unfortunately, other SAS controllers were not tested.

Please specify the model you were not able to recalculate translator.

Well, I was not able to test all Seagate SAS families yet, but all the ones which I came across, the utility was able to regenerate it's translator succesfully

Some recent examples of SAS succesfully regenerated translators:

Model: ST373455SS - Cheetah 15.5K family
Result: translator regeneration was performed succesfully

Model: ST3400755SS - Cheetah NS family
Result: translator regeneration was performed succesfully

Follows attached a screenshot from Cheetah 15.5K command result

If there were a problem with regenerating translator, please provide hard drive firmware version. I suppose the problem is related to different versions.
