Dear all board users and AceLab Stuff. At the first time, i wish you all, a very happy new Year!

I can't find in the userguide of PC-3000UDMA, how to enable writing factory modules.
But i have two Hitachi HTS541 drives with the same problem RSVD 0 and 1 are ok, but the factory module can't be read. Only the factory Module RSVD and the DUMP Module are bad.

How i can solve this problem.
Thanks for any Help.
Bruno

Hi Bruno,

You don't need to.
That modules are always bad.
Have you tried to access sectors of the drive?

Make SA test again and post the results.

Dear datalabace

Your tip: make another SA-Test was helpfull!!

i comparing the new sa-test log with an earlier from the same HD and found difference.
Both modules OVR0 and OVR1 inthe earlier log has this entry:
mu-code................................. : C60R

and in the new log there are C6TR....

I also write the original Module OVR0 and OVR1 back to the Disc.
Now i can recover the data from this HD.
But why this entry has changed???
I dont touch it!!

Hi Bruno,

I really don't know why that change.
Had to analyse the case from the beginning to try to understand that.

Hi datalabace

I think the key to the bad Modules is a moribund Head Preamp or ReadWrite-Channel.
I recover about 64'000'000 sectors, then the head make noises (clacking). That is enough, because on the drive are 10GB of data stored. :D I have all!
When i have more time, i try to analize them, but for the moment i have to do many urgent work. (Much HD and Memorycards to recover)
Thanks for help
