I have this 40GB Hitachi Travel Star. When i start my pc3000, it is going to ready state mode but it cannot read the HDD ID I try to select the correct HDD ID but still same problem. I try to replace the hdd pcb. Anyone can help me?? Thanks

I think on 2 possibilities: PCB damage or pre-amplifier damage.
I have seen similar failures on this models. The drives spins up, but the spindle does not leave the parking area (it does not move). You can open it and check. Good luck

what if the problem will be in pre-amplifier?? how can i repair it?? do i need to change any thing?? thanks

If pre-amplifier is damage, you need you change the whole headstack....
Try first to transplat NVRAM to new PCB board.
