I have strange problem with Hitachi HTS541060G9SA00 ( 60Gb Sata ).

When i power on it, go to ready without knoking, but PC3KUDMA can not identify the Hdd family.

I run the HTS541 utility and make a SA Check. The only bad module module is PSHT Copy0.

The Copy 1 and F Copy is good. When i try to write module PSHT Copy0 with module PSHT Copy1, all seem to be OK, but when i check module PSHT Copy 0 again, this seem to be BAD.

Some one can help me ?

Another question is :

Why PC3KUDMA do not recognize the Hdd Family is all module except PSHT copy 0, are good ?

What is the module responsable for idetifications Hdd Family ?

Please help me !!!!! :?

Hi Powermax,

I already had 2 of those cases.
First of all, if you have PList damaged, most probably utility won't ID the drive.
If you tried to copy from copy 1 to copy 0 and copy is always bad, that means that the area where PList is located is damaged.
From what I know you don't have any way to solve it.

There is no way to use Plist Copy 1 and not Plisit Copy 0 ?

The copy 1 is perfectly readed.
The copy 0 start to read but on 60% return an read error.

Thank you anymore.

Hi

I tried a mathord and got little success.

I have opened the Hitachi utility with no id and serial# of drive. My PLIST copy0 was bad (bad sector).

so no other way to repair it.

Then i opened the DE and unselected the "READ DRIVE ID" and manualy inserted the size of hard disk. and Clone to Image

Then in DE in Task parameter I have selected read from active PC3000 utility. BINGO got nearly 60% of the data very nicely. but for 40% i am working.
Hope this will help some one or if u have a good meathord please post it.

Thanks
Vikas :)

Thanks for the tip.
I'll check if I still have here some of those drives and test it out.

Hi guys,

I've got exactly the same problem with a HTS541010G9SA00.
The drive does not ID, error on loading open modules; only copy 0 of plist is defective.
Also using the active pc3k utility, i can read about 60000 sectors.
Then the rest becomes unreadable.
Any tips on how to progres with this drive ?

Thanks in advance,

Dobre
