Hitachi Deskstar - no spin

I've got a bad 400 GB Hitachi Deskstar that won't spin up. The motor ohms fine and the PCB is not the problem.

Before I open this bad boy up (10 heads / 5 platters) I would like to know if:

1. Bearing seizures are common on this model;

2. What kind of success people are having with head/platter transplants;

3. If the bearing can be loosened successfully without having to do step 2

1. Bearings seizures are very commun on this models, not so much as Seagate.

But if you open the drive I'm sure in 1 sec you can determine if it's a spindle seizure.
