HDD arrived in with a failed PCB, from inside a desktop computer, HDD has not sustained a physical shock.

=======================

Donor PCB + Patient Serial ROM - HDD stays busy, makes a slight buzzing sound. Cannot get access to SA.

Hotwap with donor PCB to Patient - HDD becomes ready, it is possible to read some modules, but not all. Occasionally drive will become busy and make buzzing sound. It will not respond to soft or hard reset. It is necessary to perform another hotswap to get HDD to become ready again. Most likely a weak head?

Terminal output for both situations copied below. Any hits would be greatly appreciated.

After a reset of the SMART and A-LIST the following output is given when Donor PCB + Patient ROM. It looks like it is struggling to read the S,R & VList?
