Is there external ROM to swap? Seems like ROM is not compatible with SA. Did you try hotswap to reach SA?

Hey Aj,

Thanks for your reply!
No external ROM.

I tried Hotswap but didn't work for some reason, luckily if found another drive i'm going to try that now

OVerlays and ROM should have same revision. If you cannot find ROM to match Overlays, write overlays to match ROM you do have

Hi again,

I tried hot swap following this guide : Steps for hot-swapping all Samsung drive families: - viewtopic.php?f=33&t=6531

using the following module:

"06 CONFIG"
"10 SLISTHDR"
"11 SLIST"
"12 TLIST"
"13 ALIST"
"5D CONFIG2" (if it exist in modules table)
"62 ALISTHDR" (except PANGO, VANGOPLUS, VELOCE, RUBICON, P80A)

Still unable to see any sectors.

How do I tell if my doner is ok for hot swap? both have PV - MS on label.

Jason ,
Try What sir is Saying ,These Two Have To Match As The Overlays Are code That Has To Be Executed To complete the Process Of Initialization

Hi again,
I think I may have jumped the gun and copied the patient drives "overlay" module onto my doner drive and now it is doing the exact same thing that the patient drive is doing

and its the only working drive like it that i have!

Have I stuffed this now? anyway to get the doner to have his overlay file back?

thanks again

Jason

You need to reach SA access to donor and write donor overlays back. This can be achieved only through hotswap in my experience. Use a second donor to get SA access to first donor to restore.

Then write donor overlays to patient SA and use donor PCB to get user data,

Pretty sure that was aimed at me

hehe

Ok I will try that, thanks for your advice.

as for the previous advice about the overlays, what am I doing wrong?

I wrote the patient overlay to doner HDD, which "stuffed" it.

i am only new to Pc3000 and still have many things to learn.
