SAMSUNG HD501LJ 500G SATA, detected normal under PC3000, unable to access data using DE. Checked firmware all ok. Reading service track gives error in head 0 and 1, the rest are ok.
Is there anyway to fix and get the data?

Thank you so much.

Have you tried to image the drive using DE?

Hello
I have the same problem with this drive, I would like to known what did you do to solve the problem?
Actually my drive has heads & SA OK, but cannot read data, the DE detect all partitions but no acces the Data!

I hope an answer of your problem!
Thanks

in this case i would test the heads inside the SA area, to be sure all are OK.
If the modules are all readable, try to send one soft reset after the first LBA access.
If still have problems, can you please show one terminal log from the LBA access attempt?

I think in many cases SA access is possible with damaged heads because of different densities of writing of SA area compared with data area. Did you try Soft Reset like Janos suggests? In many Samsung cases I have, I usually find hotwap method is very good in these drives.
