Hello,

I have WD5000AAKX-22ERMA0 patient HDD with PCB damaged(Smooth IC Burned)PCB No 2060-771640-003 REV A
i removed U12 and read with EPROM reader.
I have donor PCB with Same no but HDD is WD5000AAKX-60U6AA0.
If i am trying to write rom in this PCB giving me size error.
As donor size 256 and patient is 512.
If i directly replace(physically) donor's U12 with Patient's U12 will it work?

Yes, this will work. Often ROM sizes can vary within same family and same PCB, sometimes it is possible to patch smaller ROM to increase size to fit but is always better to physically transfer the ROM.
