Hi Guys,

I have did an experiment on a good working wd30ezrx-00mmmb0 drive with PCB 1698.
Before i began i backed up the ROM + all the FW modules.
I formatted the SA and try to write another FW from similar drive but it didn't worked don't know why.
So now i tried by using hot-swap with similar drive and load original Mod 01 to RAM and re-write the original ROM+FW back to the original drive - it writes it all good using hot-swap procedure.
Then power off and on, drive is coming ready but not getting real ID and it seems it is not initializing properly.
I have tried everything in my power but always the same - does anyone know why it doesn't work?
What is the right algorithm to write the FW and ROM back to this drive and why it doesn't work?

did you back up tracks? I always work with tracks where I can. If not, then hotswap and write tracks from a donor of same family with same SPT. Also you will need to modify ROM to reflect same version as new tracks. Now, HDD should again give ID but will be donor ID. Write native adaptives back to SA and you should be able to restore surface access to it too

can you please tell that how you Formatted the SA?

i formatted it using a tool call FRP-WD from dolphin labs
