WDC WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 Diablo 3D after head replacement

I have WDC WD30EZRX-00DC0B0 Diablo 3D with damaged head (head 3 visibly damaged).
I also have a perfect donor: same model, same date, Malaysia, matching letters 3-7 in DCM, all microjogs within 50 difference - in short, I've never had such a perfect WD donor (and I've had quite a few).
Head replaced, no problems (I've even moved both magnets, stopper and screws).
Patient with donor head shows dead head symptoms: two calibration attempts (very brief), motor stops, DRD/DSC. Start utility in kernel mode, shows correct model, everything else empty.
Donor heads are still good - moved back to donor, it works.
Can't change heads in RAM. Can't load loader (which I have from the donor).
I have tried donor PCB, same result.
I have tried average microjogs and preamp, same result.
I have tried donor ROM with patient adaptives (mod 47), same result.
I have tried to disable SA access in ROM, same result.
I can't get to the patient's SA to try hot swap (possible with the same donor if I return heads to donor, start hot swap procedure and then transfer heads to patient - tricky but doable)
What else can I try?
It really bugs me that I can't get anything with (I believe) perfect donor. It's hard to believe that both SA copies have been lost in head crash.
Any ideas would be much appreciated (and I will share my experiences and results, as always).
