WD400BB - CAVIAR 16

Hi to all,

I have this disk when i give power it start to click.

So i decide to use head maps to see if i can get ID.

But when i put in kernel mode and i go to the headmaps it appear this:

Anyone know what i can do here, any help will be appreciate.

clicking mean head problem... Mostly

if you want to try you can try to set only one head first and see what happen

Hi ZeBong

This drive shows 4 heads.
If it isn't a remanufactured drive, it should use heads # 0,1,2,3
If you have doubts, you can look physically by opening HDA and counting heads
(as a general rule, wd hdd heads counts from bottom to top)

Now, to check which head is bad, you need to change head mapping from default to from map in kernel mode
Enable one physically present head at time.
Hdd will not enable lba access, but you will be able to determine which head is bad or not
