Hi,

Need help about this disk WD5000AAJB

have the PCB Burn, its burned microprocessor and doesnt has external ROM

Tell me please full model of this drive , like WD5000AAJB-xxYYxx
Also do you have same family donor for this drive ?

For this drive you should find a compartible pcb with same symbols in the middle of the second part of the model and swap the pcb.

Then make a SA Structure test and provide us a report.

The full model is : WD5000AAJB-00YRA0

Will try to find a donor.

1. You should find a compatible WD donor drive and resources for Tornado 2R family.
2. Swap the PCB and run ROM restoration method.

I had a similar problem.

the model that failed is: WD5000AAJS-32YFA0
the donor is: WD5000AAJS-22TKA0

it is impossible to find the same harddrive anywhere

the resource master creation in DB did work 100%
then i restarted the tool in kernel mode and go to:
Tests->Work with ROM -> ROM recovery

the wizards starts.
then i choose the right model resource i imported from Tornado2R.pcr.
then ic click the button ">>"
then i get a popup stating "Fatal error" and the wizard is closing.

no matter which version i choose from the list it always dies with "Fatal error".

any hints?

What determines compatibility for donor to use ROM restoration?
