WD Scorpio Data Recovery

I recently had a number of WD scorpio drives such as WD800UE - 22HCT0. They are all detected as WDC ROM Model Scopio.

After swapping rw head stack, swapping pcb (with resoldering of rom chip from patient to donor), none of them work.

I tried to perform hot swap but it will also fail because I realize even two drives with similar label such as WD800UE - 22HCT0 will not work after pcb swap without the rom resoldering so hot swap will never get the recalibration work correctly.

I begin to wonder if any one had encounted such problem before with any success at all ?

A run with the udma shows the following error:

SA Dir Reading -Device Error detected
