WD2500JD ROM Issue

Hi All,

I am having issues with a WD2500JD-75HBC0

Drive does not spin up and shows continual BSY status and i cannot access the ROM.

Donor PCB will spin up the drive, however soldering over the patient ROM chip to the donor PCB also prevents the drive from spinning up the drive and indicates a continual BSY status.

PC3UDMA gives me a Drive not ready error and "Techno Key Error - Drive is Not Ready" warnings.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your ROM is really busted out. Have you tried ROM reconstruction?

Is this possible with UDMA, or do i need a ROM Programmer?

It's possible with UDMA, you have there the option.
