Head compatability in seagate F3 drives.

Hello,
I have been told that we should try the patient PCB (without ROM Transfer) on donor and if donor continues spinning (i.e. not spinning down), then head will match. If the donor spins down, heads will not match. Is it true even if I have same model, Country and FW. Please someone guide. Thanks in advance.
