Seagate 500GB barracuda boot problem

Hi
I have a Seagate Barracuda 500GB HDD . the OS fails to boot sometimes(sometimes boots easily).
when I connect the HDD to PC3000 it starts to KNOCK until I run the utility.
Logical check is fine.
Heads check is also file.
What's wrong with the drive?
