dear guru accept my ragards
here i have a hdd ( seagate 2.5" sata ) which it doesn't spin up bcoz its heads are parked on platters not in their parking .
after i corrected the problem ( i did it very well ) and i connected the hdd to pc3000 , it spins up but after few seconds it spins down , DRD and DSC registers light up
when i enter seagate window it shows me the HDD model and serial number but the firmware is wrong and the capacity isnot recognized .

i changed the whole HDA ( maybe it was not needed , was it ???? )
but after that job the condition is the same as before i did it .
any suggestions to solve this problem ?

these are all notes in seagate window:

Hi,

When it spins up and then spins down, heads are knocking?
Have you checked if PCB is native ?

hello Datalabace
tnx for your reply
no i did not hear any knock ?
it just spins up , some sound like head calibration , then everything goes off and spins off .
this procedures lasts for about 30 to 40 seconds .

Hi,
Are you watched at the head with a microscope? If the head fell on the platters, they could be damaged.

The heads locked to the platter prevents spindle starting, and on attempts it meets resistance which pulls at the sliders. Very likely the heads have sustained damage and need to be replaced, spindle stopping before showing DRDY is also a huge sign of heads damaged.

In case of non native PCB, usually it knocks but remains powered.

Did you check that all sliders were intact when you parked them back?

1) Dear datalabace
it is an external HDD .Seagate Goflex .
I opened the external box and pulled out the hdd from it .

2) dear maxim
i changed the faulty HDA with a completely healthy one .

3) Dear AJ2008
I forget to check the slider before parked them back , maybe they are the source of problem .

beside this I take the Donor HDA back to its platter , after i powered it on it has the same problem ( spins off before DRD) - whereas the Donor H.D.D was healthy before the head swap - , this shows that my job to change the HDA was faulty !!!! :?
i should try it with new donor

thanks for all your help friends

I am very appreciated if write here any tips for changing HDA .

faithfully yours
