heres a picture of a new board.
I am trying to locate the short points.
I see 2 pairs leaving the head pads but those dont end with a resistor/cap bridge like usual. and I beeped all the points on the chip with no beep...
So I can keep trying to trace it out but does anyone recognize this?
picture attached...

It is there, even in old manual

Maybe not the same pcb # BUT the key to success is ALWAYS COMPARE

start from there n good luck

Heres a closer picture.
Can you show me where you think the short points are?
Thanks
Looking at the head contacts:
from left to right..
1-2 and 3-4 appear to be the rw head traces.
They disappear under the processor and I havent been able to find any contact points that
will beep out with the head pads.

I dont see a bridging resistor on either pair.

There is briging cap on a pair going to the chip to the left. But that looks like cache ram.
But it doesnt beep to the head contact or any of the pins of the cpu.

of the 1-2 and 3-4 pairs:
Shorting 3-4 has no affect.
Shorting 1-2 gives the clicking and spin down that I expect but terminal doesnt repspond.
I suspect the board is bad.

Thanks
