HI all,
This Seagate ST980411ASG drive (FW:DE13) was inside a Dell laptop and the user had Point Sec enabled in it. We usually do the O LBA fix on these drives and then image to a new drive, worked for several cases same model drives/ same customer. One particular drive yesterday failed at imaging phase at 69%. When we checked it again in UDMA, the size has gone back to 0, but no SPIN down, seeking and becoming DRDY is taking bit more time than usual. The 0 size fix on the utility is not working, fails when the COM Port detection after translator rebuild.
Apparently there were some links to an updated firmware DE17 for this drive was visible during searches. I do have a same model drive with DE17 firmware on it, working condition.
Any idea to resolve this?
Mathew
