Hi,

probably nothing.
This drive is from a MacBook, probably overheated. The heads are damaged and probably the platters too.
I did some MHA replacements but none worked. The donor heads did not get damaged due to limiting their movement to avoid the scratched area, they work quite well after putting them back into their HDA.
But even the SA could not be read, so I persume there is some media degradation problem.

Dear CarlosAdolfo,

At this case you should check the power of commutator or if it wouldn't help you can do a Head Swap. HM errors always mean that you've got problems with PCB or Heads. Sometimes them both can be damaged.

Regards.

Hi,

As he says PEPE is a disc with the APPLE logo.

HDD ST9120822AS FW 3.CAE (APPLE logo)
Donor ST9120822AS FW 3.AXC (without APPLE logo)

I can Make HEAD and PCB the swap?

Recommendations to make the swap

Hi,

U can try the head swap, but be prepared to severe platter damage near the inner perimeter of the platters. As it is a 120G drive having 3 heads, the upper head is missing and U won't see any damage on the top side.
But as u take out the MHA U will have to examine the heads under a microscope or a good magnifier to check if they are dirty.
They will be dirty 98% :(
then U can decide to try the swap or not. if yes, make sure that the new MHA won't touch the damaged area of the platters.
But as I told U I had no luck with them, replaced the heads which remained functional in the donor after swapping back, but they were unable to read anything from the patient surface (apart from the boot adapts and reserved track defect list - 5 sectors )
