ST3500418 CC38

Postby recoverylabs » 01.04.13, 14:43

This device looks to have a translator problem, so It seems like It calibrated, but doesn´t go further than staying busy.
The utility reports me the following message:
Rst 0x08M
No HOST FIS-ReadyStatusFlags 2002B001
ASCII Diag mode
So I´ve tried, first of all, repairing translator via HDD Lock solution, and trying to regenerate translator, or even trying to clear SMART, but unit doesn´t response.
So, at next, I took a look to this forum, and found the following solution, that I tried with no success:

F3 T>/2

F3 2>Z

HighPowerMode
Spin Down Complete
Elapsed Time 0.104 msecs
F3 2>U

HighPowerMode
ExecuteSpinRequest
Spin Up Complete
Elapsed Time 3.888 secs
F3 2>/1

F3 1>N1

(At next the report after trying to repair the unit)

Init SMART Fail
LED:000000CC FAddr:0024E2D
Rst 0x08M
Rst 0x08M
SIM Error 203F
No HOST FIS-ReadyStatusFlags 2002A1A5

I have tried, even, with a PCB BIOS change with a compatible donor PCB, and also heads change.

Any other suggestion?

Thanks in advance,

David.

When I try with V1 command:

F3 T>/2

F3 2>Z

HighPowerMode
Spin Down Complete
Elapsed Time 0.104 msecs
F3 2>U

HighPowerMode
ExecuteSpinRequest
Spin Up Complete
Elapsed Time 3.519 secs
F3 2>/1

F3 1>V1

Invalid Diag Cmd

I´ve tried both with donor heads and with originals one, with no success. Any other potential solution?

Thanks,

David.
