st2000dm001 - short points?

spins up
sounds good
stays busy

I get this in terminal
swapped bios to new board - same.

Boot 0x40M
Spin Up
RECOV Servo Op=0100 Resp=0005[0x000042F9][0x000042F9]ZZZZMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMddddddWWWMMMMMMSxxxxZWZWZWZWZWZWZWZW

Short points are not apparent.
If I short the 2 end pads on the head connector (which I suspect is the short pints)
Then is clicks and spins down.
but terminal is not active.

There are more and more of these doing this.
Is ACE working on a solution?
