Firmware : CC38
Capacity : 465,76 GB (976 773 168)


Security-locked HDD log output on startup is:-

ATTENTION! Security-locked HDD.

Tech Key...
Error starting command "En Tech" (ABR)



Drive is identified correctly.

Then attempting to unlock drive with this option:
Tools -> HDD -> HDD Security Subsystem -> Open HDD

The Opening HDD screen pops up. I do not modify any parameters, I just press OK.
I then get the error:

Security unlock error: Device error detected "ABR"

ABR = Automatic Baud Rate... right?

I changed the COM port baud rate, but it made no difference to the error reponse.

How do I unlock this drive?

I managed to solve the case by starting the HDD lock 000CC shorting pins solution.

I only did the shorting of the pins. The drive did not stop but was ready. I held the short on the pins until an error_write message appeared on the terminal output.

Then I cancelled the HDD lock solution. Exited the seagate utility. Power off.

Power on, restart seagate utility. Drive started up unlocked and in good condition.

Replicated this solution on 4 different (same model) drives. Solution worked fine.
