Postby datacare » 06.10.11, 10:39

I have one Seagate 2TB Hard Disk Model-ST32000542AS-FIRMWARE-CC34-BARRACUDA LP, it is not detecting and cannot get the Terminal access .
Hdd Spinning is normal.

I have tried the following-

HDD Lock Solution and Swap the ROM to the New working PCB also but there is no improvement.

When Isolate the PCB hdd ID and Capacity is not showing properly.

Anybody help in this problem

With regards

Hello Datacare

I believe you took same model and same capacity drive as a board donor.
If you have swapped logic board (with ROM resoldering) and there were no improvements, to make 100% sure board is good, you may install donors ROM chip on it and put to donor drive. Obviously, if patient logic board is good, donor will initialize correctly.

In this case most likely the drive has heads stack problem. When this drive cannot reach SA it blocks terminal. As an expeirement, try to reach terminal with ctrl-z on same model working donor.

Same model working donor could be used as heads stack donor as well.

I have tried many options,

Swap the Donor ROM to Patient Board and replace it with donor drive it is working perfectly,
swap the Patient ROM to Donor Board, it is giving the same error,

I think it may be a FLASH ROM CORRUPTION,

Is there any solution to solve this ???
