You must be very kindly and delicated. Mover the heads softly (take as long as you considerer). Softly softly bring the heads to the extreme to replace. If you do this very softly and kindly heads perhaps could be usefull.

Good luk

If original heads are damaged donor heads will be needed, but what exactly determines compatibility on these 7200.11 drives?

Even if u move heads to the land zone u the hdd could not spin by a seized, of spindle, we work with a solution to free and works, for seagate 500GB, but the most cases with this problems dropped, and heads moved to the begin of platters we free the spindle and reach his rpm but, cannot reach readiness, some one sucess on this models? Im know from another points, even if did platter swap the hdd could not reach readinss, looks like excentricity problems ..

Regards

I have great success with platter swap on 7200.11 with platterswap, but only if native heads are undamaged. If using a donor my success rate drops considerably. Anyone know the reason for this?
