I need to make a Quantum loader. The one in the PC-3000 database doesn't work right for the model we have here.
It is a Maxtor D740X-6L MX6L020J1
S/N 661213627553 TSZXX
We have a fairly close match to this drive, but we don't know how to make a loader from it-- it's not in the Quantum/Maxtor utility.
Does anyone know how to do it?

Re: How to make Quantum loader
Hello.
Unfortunately, the utility haven't got the command that creates loaders. However, tell me
what happens when you try the loader you have?
Is it possible to make drive registers go to DRD DSC , enter Quantum utility and load the loader utility offers you.
Or select it manually for D740X-6L.

Re: How to make Quantum loader
When we use the loader, the utility starts up OK, DRD and DSC lit and no errors when utility starts, but the drive ID is not correct (VP40 instead of D740x-6L MX6L020J1), and it shows capacity of 209MB instead or 20GB. If I manually change the Max LBA to correct value and drive model and serial number to actual ones, then switch to Data Extractor without resets, it still only shows 209 MB.
I tried the loader on a good drive of the same model, with the same result.
In the other forum thread regarding this drive you suggested I try a structure test on the drive. Only 5 modules could be read (5, 40, 4C, 73, and C1) but all CPs were read successfully according to the utility.
