PC3K UDMA 5.0.8.2550 DE bug ?

Postby RescueDRL@gmail.com » 26.06.12, 01:25

Hi. I have PC3K UDMA 5.0.8.2550 - DE version 4.8.1.2569

Here is what i'm experiencing when using Data Extractor for imaging after 5.0.8 update:

While i'm imaging a drive, using port 0 for patient, port 1 for destination, if you go to the "map" tab to check on the sector map and "click" on a sector to view it's contents, PC3K will freeze (i have to force exit and create a new task as the old task becomes corrupt).

This only seems to happen while imaging is in progress. and it happens on both of my machines (running win xp pro 32bit sp3).

Anybody else having same issues ?

I got the same Issue but not in cloning

in DE again

with WD & Seagate drives, when i do Build Head Map it starts, before reaching 100% it freezes and when i press STOP it doesn`t stop

then, I RESTORE MY OLD GHOST IMAGE (prev. ver.) and tried the same with the same drives guess what? IT WORKS VERY WELL SHARP

this leads to new Update in DE has this bug specially in DE 99% but the Utility is FINE

am wondering how you guys released it.

even with the Wish List in forensic post that you asked, i mentioned 2 things NEVER BEEN FIXED
and one of them was an OLD bug Never Been Fixed also for 2 coming updates and i gave you guys screenshot of the problem but wondering why not fixed yet.!!!!!!!!!!!

Using DE 4.8.1.2569 here. Since updating, crashing nearly every case, each day when using Explorer mode. In explorer, program will quit responding. I have to force/quit application and restart utility. I have not observed any other issues other than in DE. Yesterday NTFS was locking up in explorer mode. Today, I'm working with HFS fs, and same result.

I'm glad to know i'm not the only one :)

I dont blame Acelab for a few bugs here and there, all i care is that the utilities for F/W repair are up to date to support latest techologies / drives. We are not the average consumer, we are Data Recovery Professionals... bugs are to be expected, if you found a way to deal with them great, if you didnt, then you are in trouble :P I rather have the new WD ram headmap algorithm up and running with a few DE bugs than having no bugs in DE and no tools for fixing drives.
