Raptor Password Unlocking Fails

Postby Balvan » 09.02.10, 17:45

With Raptor series, if you use the password removal feature, the utility will report that there is no password. However, in one case, every sector is reported as bad during a logical scan, consistent with the fact that there is still password protection.

However, if you then launch the Universal Utility, it will say that the drive is still locked.

Please confirm and fix this bug.

Thank you.

Well, since I didn't get any responses, I guess in enough time I can report on how I fixed it myself.

I copied the WDCWDC series (default) to position 00x390 in module 42, then fixed the checksum. Now itis unlocked and works fine.
