PWR ON Error on channel VCC. Overcurrent detected!

Hi
I have an old flash-card with a Phison controller and four nand chips. I was able to read the first two chips (ECD514B6 74ECD514 K9GAG08U0M), but the other two gave an error "PWR ON Error on channel VCC. Overcurrent detected!" when I tried to read the chip ID.
After reading these two posts:
viewtopic.php?p=32316#p32316
viewtopic.php?p=30750#p30750
...my conclusion is that the problem either is caused by:
1. dirty connectors (I've tried to clean them)
2. wrong power scheme parameters (I've tried various settings, but If anyone could elaborate on how to set this correctly that would be great)
3. shorted chip (can I confirm this in other way, and does this mean there is no hope)
Anything besides this I've missed? What can I do from here?
Thanks!
