I am have just started out in data recovery and when I was looking for the right equipment, I was told that for flash equipment, the PC-3000 Flash is the tool to get, so I went along and bought it, feeling pretty happy that I will be able to recover data from all flash devices such as cell phones, tabs, all the different SD type cards and so on.
Now it turns out that I was wrong and to top it all, the additional Adapter set and monolith adapter set are not available. I wanted one tool to do everything as was stated (almost promised) in the ACELab video. There is also a new tool from ACELab to be released sometime soon, called the PC-3000 Mobile - so the Flash V4 seems to have a limited capability.
I have had to purchase an American solution for cell phones and it has 9 adapters (3200.00 USD), very little standardization, it seems like every manufacturer does his own thing.
Now I have 2 machines to do what Flash V4 promised to be capable of. I still do not know if I will be able to provide data recovery for tabs - which flash chips do they use? Will Flash V4 have the capability to read and recover data from them?
At this point, I am not pleased about the overstated ability of the Flash V4 solution, there should not even be a PC-3000 Mobile, the functionality is supposed to be in the Flash V4.

Re: PC-3000 Flash V4 Comments
Hello,
First of all i would say you register for a Course In PC 3000 Flash. This will help you understand the tool a bit ,What does This Tool Do Exactly Well For Starters It Can Handle " Chipoff " Means You Remove the Chip And It Will Read It And You Can Reconstruct The Data .Secondly The New Mobile Tool Will Not Be Chipoff .JTAG / UART Etc Is Not Chipoff Its A Solution were you connect physical wires to the device without removing chip .The only confusion would be that both tools can read Emmc Devices in chipoff mode "So be it thats no big deal as its SD interface .So For Pen Drives , Flash Cards , Absolutely not Working SSD's PC 3000 Flash is the tool and for Everything Else For Mobile PC 3000 Mobile is the tool .But Both Will Read Emmc Chipoffs .
PS : I hope my TS Staff Agrees To My observations and comments

Re: PC-3000 Flash V4 Comments
Thanks for your comments, but it does not make be feel better about the subject. See the overview on the Flash V4 and I think that you will understand. This is the overview given on http://www.acelaboratory.com/pc3000flash.php:
The PC-3000 Flash is a hardware-software system intended for recovering data from all NAND based devices in such cases where there is no access through the authorized drive interface:
UFD (USB Flash Drive)
SD (Secure Digital Card)
CF (Compact Flash)
micro SD (micro Secure Digital Card)
MS (Memory Stick)
xD
Monolithic Flash Devices
MMC (Multi Media Card)
eMMC (embedded Multi Media Card)
VoiceRecorder (dictaphone)
iPhone (without hardware encryption)
Data recovery from USB drives, memory cards, mobile storage devices
The PC-3000 Flash is based on our own "know-how" technology of getting direct access to Flash memory microchips. The microchip is desoldered from the storage device and read by our special device – the "Flash reader" – providing access to data when the controller is damaged. This technology greatly increases the chances of successful data recovery even when the storage device is physically damaged.
The PC-3000 Flash contains an up-to-date large memory chip database that allows you to identify and read microchips in automatic mode. Complicated stack organizations which consist of several parts are automatically detected by the PC-3000 Flash as well.
Add to this that the card reader is not available and may never be available again - how can one recover data from cell phones and tablets? Also, where is the database for these flash devices? I expect ACELab to step-up and provide the functionality as described above.
I have the basic Flash V4 and it does not look like there was provision made for these eMMC devices. I do not mind wiring and soldering, but it seems that something is missing. I have tried to purchase the Extended Adapter set and the Monolith set, but they are not available and it sounds like the Spider board is pushed as the magic bullet for all - it is way too expensive. In stead, provide PCB's for the monolith set with tracks and pads for these eMMC devices so that they can be soldered in and read. It is acceptable to expect wiring and soldering for SD and micro SD (monoliths) without chips, but not for anything else that comes in the form of a chip. I have noticed that someone else has also expressed his dissatisfaction about it. In the end, what is the real capability of the Flash V4 without the additional adapter sets?
Is there a 'Suggestion Box' for suggestions from customers?

Re: PC-3000 Flash V4 Comments
PC-3000 Flash is a software-hardware system for FLASH STORAGE DEVICE recovery. It means that it really works great with all staff like UFD, CompactFlash, SD, MicroSD, MMC and other types that were described in our product description. Actually, no one say that PC-3000 Flash can work with Mobile Phone recovery, the only thing that we can do - work with very-old types of iPhones and Android Pads which are based on TSOP-48 chips and does not have hardware encryption.
For Monolith recovery you can use Circuit Board adapter which is include in PC-3000 Flash kit. The only thing you should have - experience with micro soldering, and that's all.
Actually, our sales representatives always provide full information about our product, and also tell full info about product limits. So, if your main goal was data recovery from Mobile Devices, like modern phones and pads - you bought not a target device.
Finally, the basic kit of PC-3000 Flash allow you to:
Work with all types of monolith like microSD, SD, MemoryStick, UFD with the help of Circuit Board.
Work with SD, CF, MemoryStick, USB Flash, XD devices which are based on NAND chips in TSOP-48, TLGA-52\60, BGA-132\152 package.
If you want also to work with rare types of NAND chips like VBGA-100 or TSSOP-56, you can order them separately.
If you don't want to use soldering during recovery, you can order Spider Board Adapter.
We are not include all existed adapters in PC-3000 Flash kit, because in PC-3000 will become extremely expensive. Most of customers don't want to spend their money or professional monolith recovery tool, and at the same time it's a good chance to save money if you don't need something.
Anyway, please feel free to contact our TS department on ts.acelaboratory.com in case if you will need any assistance with case recovery.

Re: PC-3000 Flash V4 Comments
Roman,
The card reader has been removed from the list, no-one can buy it anymore. I want to do diagnostics on a SD card, the card is working, but Windows wants to format the card when I put it into the normal SD card reader on my laptop.
I can do nothing with the SD card with normal Windows tools and I have tried it out on equipment from another manufacturer. Their software/hardware system is not really made for SD cards, but it returned with results that indicates that there is nothing wrong with the card. I cannot recover any data from the SD card with their system.
I want to use Flash on the card, but I do not have a card reader and there is no chance of buying one because you do not make it anymore. Now, could you advise how to read the SD card with the circuit board? I can solder wires on to the contacts of the SD card; could you let me know which contacts on the circuit board to use so that I can read the SD card? Flash should then give me an idea if I can recover data from the SD card. I have gone through the documentation on the circuit board, but it does not give any information about the pads, it just gives me numbers and I need the function of the pads instead.

Roman,
Thanks, I am on the waiting list for a card reader and sales will let me know when it is available.
In the meantime, can you help with the connections? The customer is a professional photographer and I do not want to loose her as a customer, she belongs to a group of many photographers and can refer more business my way.
