Shorting pins

Postby gterry » 15.04.24, 17:12

How do you know if the pins on a drive need to be permanently shorted for a recovery or just shorted briefly? If the window does not pop up to say when to release the short how do you know how long to keep the contacts shorted? The SSD manual doesn't go over this clearly and just states to short certain ones.

Hello Glen,

Usually we recommend keeping the drive to be shorted all the time. "Once your short and then release" will work normally only until the drive will repower itself. After that, you will need to short it again, which isn't a good thing, especially if you are leaving the drive under copying for the whole night.
With best regards
