Hitachi Headmap HDS721616PLAT80

Postby pclab » 10.04.18, 17:39

Hi

I have this old Hitachi here that had a head crash and the top platter is damaged. I wanted to to a headmap on NVRAM, but after I change everything to 00 and save, it doesn’t save (after power off/on).

This models have any specifications??
Thanks

HEllo,

Based on this attached Image NVRAM is not in good condition.
Try to compare this NVRAM image with the donor one.
Is the donor NVRAM also has such strange Heads map?

Another thing:
If even the top platter is scratched then all other platters are scratched too in the same place.
And this place is the Service area place.
In such case useless to change Heads map or try to perform any other software tricks.
With best regards

Hi Filipp

I have connected also the donor PCB (I'm only connecting the PCB), and the headmap is exactly the same...
About the scratch, why couldn't it only be on the top platter?
