I got this disk in today, it was with another data recovery shop and I can see that the PCB was removed. These people told the customer that they can recover the disk, but quoted her an incredibly high price. The customer declined the quote and fetch the disk and gave it to me.
She says that the disk was spinning-up before she took it in to the other shop, but now it is not. The disks makes 10 clicks (like the sound of a solenoid) and then err and abr red indicators come on at the bottom of the screen, without me doing anything and the disk does not spin-up.
I want to find out if there is anything that I can try before I open the disk - it does not have a terminal plug, so I am a bit stuck. Any advice?

What I would like to find out about this disk, is the 4 connections to the motor, I want to see if power is going to the motor - which is positive and which is negative and what is the voltage reading that I should get. Then, please as much advice as possible before I open the disk.
