I've got this drive in that clicks and stays at BSY. Looks okay in the clean room.

Default Head Map - 07 06 05 04 03 02 01 00 D8 A2
Head Map to get to ID - Head map - 07 06 05 04 03 02 01 07 D8 A2

In DE
Logical Head Map is 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

Can anyone tell me which logical head is related to which physical head?

If you build a Head map in DE then Logical head0 in DE it's 07 Head in Default Head map of drive.
So we have:
Drive | DE
07 - 0
06 - 1
05 - 2
04 - 3
03 - 4
02 - 5
01 - 6
00 (spared to 07) - 7 (actually show data from head 0 in DE).
D8, A2 - 8,9 heads are fake heads.

How can 8 & 9 be fake heads if the drive has 10 physical heads in it? Working on another case right now where the default headmap is:

logical - physical
0 - 07
1 - 06
2 - 06
3 - 04
4 - 03
5 - 02
6 - 01
7 - 00
8 - 59
9 - F1 (changed to 08 to make it work)

In DE, headmap is 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 where head 9 is completely dead...even with a set of donor heads. But, in playing with the headmap, I changed the F1 to 08 and am now able to read head 9, with lots of errors, in DE.

how to open this model in utility ?
