these days I am involved with a 2.5" Toshiba (MK5050GSX) , and a 3.5" Toshiba drive (DT01ACA100)

1- when the client brought the patient drive to our company , it had head clicks
2- I thought it is head problem , then I replaced the head with a completely functional one .
3- After first head replacement , I found that the original patient HEAD is functional on the donor drive and the Patient drive still head clicks(with functional Donor Head)
4- I doubted maybe the heads were damaged , then I replaced them once more (now both donor and patient hard drives have their original heads) but still the donor is functional and the patient head clicks.
5-I replaced the heads once more : , but the donor drive works and the patient head clicks .

can any other reason causes this problems ???
for example the ROM or SA Files ???
or maybe the platters ??

I will be very appreciated if you help me on this case .

I found the problem (thank you Milad)
if the glist has problem , sometimes it causes click click , Then I should repair the glist and use the "command to read : utility mode" .
of course this hdd has platter problem too .

first, thanks for your Info.

So i have the same Disk whit the same problem...
After Power On the HDD is clicking.
I can Save the ROM and the MP RAM by Terminal, but i can´t do nothing by P or G-List...

So i will change the Head mybee it is weak.... but can i take the same disk MK5055GSX or is it the same as WD that i have to look for a spcial No. on the Disk-Tape?

Hi @all,

now i have read all the CP´s whitout the CP DD for P-List. When the System will read this CP the Disk is begining Clicking for a wail. After the HDD Stops clicking, i make a Hard-Rest and can get HDD Info.
The CP Reading and the ROM i´ve saved, have do it over the Terminal.

What do you think, the Heads are weak? Should i change it?

that's because DD is on platters while the rest CPs are on PCB.
Change heads.

So i changed the Head and i can get access to DD!!!! Awesom! Thanks a lot for this info.
Only one question, becaus i can get all the Moduls and i can get also the Tracks....

But in DE i can´t get the Partitions. If i try to read it, the Toshiba is clicking and after 10 sec. Power off and power on....
