I've HGST drive HTS545050A7E380.
At one place on the surface there are several bad sectors. I would like to save them in the P-list.
I do the following.
Logical test --> found errors --> I confirm defect assignment --> A list of errors opens --> I choose the option "Hide defects (to P-list through G-list)".
Then I check the P-list carefully, but the errors I have just saved are gone.
What am I doing wrong?
How to write error to P-list?

AdasRip, Hi! Could you share the log. Maybe heads lost writing ability?
Right now I've tried to transfer some defects from G to P-list on this model and it was Ok.
My drive successfully lost translation

This is valid to ALL drives ... If you move G to P you add entries on P and you will cause shift points on the translator. Same as if you add defects on P.
Some drives will still read LBA but the sectors will be "shifted" by the addition of defects on P-List. Other drives will no longer read sectors past the shift if the have CRC at sector level that no longer match the original translation ...
If you do format the drive for example with FORMAT UNIT or SECURITY ERASE you will get the translator correctly working again as sector CRC will be re-created in order but data will be gone.
