Have you tried using the HUA5C30ALA6 family along with Tech Key Detection?
I know I've been able to work with some HDS724040ALE640 drives using that utility.

The 4040 works but the 6040 did not. Tried every model and combination. Even purchased a working donor to mess around with but nothing.
