Hi,
just finished a recovery of the same drive model (dropped / heads swapped) and it had the same error reading NVRAM when entering utility. It loads modules, tries to read NVRAM, clicked and goes bsy. I just power-cycled the drive and went to NVRAM-edit, made no changes and pressed ok. After that I get ID and could test modules, all were fine but some critical were not loaded to RAM. So I did that from backed up files. After that I had access to userdata and could image most of the drive. On parts with media damage the drive went bsy and I had to do it again(power-cycle, nvram edit, load modules to ram). I read the remaining 2 GB by hiticha-utility.

Try it & good luck.
