Subject: another locked hitachi - got it unlocked but its all zeros

security locked drive
I manually backed up rom and nvram before attempting unlocking

I ran through the unlock procedure
its was going as expected
it backed up nvram and seci
then it ended with abort error
I exitted the util and went back in
did tech key detection
exitted and went back in
drive is detecfed and appears to be unlocked.
I backed up SA

I can read data
however - ENTIRE DRIVE IS ZEROS 0000000000000000

could the unlock attempt have mad the drive security erase itself?

I wrote the saved seci-org back to the drive
i wrote original nvram back to drive

now it appears as it was security locked

did this cause the drive to erase itself
or act erased?
there wasnt enough time for it to erase itself.
I dont hear noises like the drive is busy erasing - so what do you think?
