The PCB was burnt, also the NVRAM chip. I have donor drive with same model.

I know this is an old thread..
I have one of these drives which is parking heads..I'm suspecting its the control board but haven't been able to load the drive yet (PC 3000-E)

Noticed that people were having success with the hitachi 7210 module to load the drive - I tried it last night but no luck.. Just wondering if anyone has a way to load teh drive or knows which module to use thanks..

It's 7210DLE6 ARM Utility, however sometimes with this model you need to try loading a wrong utility first before it'll accept the tech key. You can see a video of how to load the utility for this one on this thread: https://www.data-medics.com/forum/hitac ... t1280.html

I have had to do this a few times, luckily I had seen Jared's video in the past. Thanks Jared!

Hello Jared and Blizzard ,
You Do Not Need To Select Wrong Utility Just Select Tech Mode Detection :D ,Try It For a Change BTW :)

PS : Also Untick PCB Mode

Thanks Amarbir, I just tested a 3TB DT01ACA300, it appears that you just need to uncheck PCB mode, I didn't need to select tech key detection. If you look at Jared's video again you see that selecting the wrong model and running the utility unticks PCB mode.
I'll let you know if I see any issues with other models.

That doesn't always work, I"ve documented this anomaly a few times. It's like it's using a tech key from a different family or something so loading the wrong one sometimes is the magic bullet.

Well tried a that module with no luck. Also tried using incorrect module without any success. Drive is still clicking away. have tried connecting via com port and via drive initilization... keep getting a tech mode error or redynes time error ...

I'm strongly convinced this drive is having a pcb issue as opposed to physical heads issue...

will dig teh log/s out and post them when I get time...

If the drive is clicking, then you're wasting your time trying to load the utility. You have to address the hardware issue before PC-3000 can even do anything.
