HI Everyone,
I have a Toshiba 2.5" HDD (MK5065GSX) drive that initially powered on and become DRD+DSC ready, I was able to perform a resource backup with no errors.
When I tried express test in PC3K no sectors were being read or failed, just contant timeout/retry (heads believed to be failing). After a power on/power off drive now spins up, clicks and is stuck in BSY state, drive does not power down it keeps spinning.
I have tried changing heads with a suitable donor, but drive now makes a bad screeching sound, no scratches observed on platters. After putting donor heads back into donor drive, the donor spins up and becomes DRD+DSC ready.
What could be issue with patient drive, am I just unlucky that heads werent truly compatible? Or could there be other issues.
Thanks for any help!

Could have tried this first: https://blog.acelaboratory.com/2045.html
Re: Toshiba MK5065GSX Clicking
Thanks, I'll refer to that in future with Toshiba drives. In my case it turns out heads were dead, first swap wasn't a true compatible donor. Second donor found and now reads OK, apart from suspected surface problems with Head 2.
