Hy all
I got a drive for data recovery. This drive is Hitachi HTS543232A7A384. The drive had head problem, it was clicking, no scratches on surface. I found a good donor,It is exactly the same model with the same P/N and MLC. Date diference is 10 days. I thought it will be a routine case, but after headswap drive stuck in busy, after a few minute, it comes ready, but can't read SA, no id. I was try head map editing in ram and nvram also, try start with loader, but it doesn't help. I also try another one head from a compatible donor, but the drive produce the same symptom. Now I think maybe it is an NVRAM issue, but can't decide. I try another NVRAM from donor drive, edit the S/N number in the header, but with this, the drive can't start spin.
Can anybody help me to solve this?
Thank you for reading my case!
Best regards, David

NVRAM is unique for every Hitachi drive.
It's necessary to use only native one.
Open "Edit NVRAM" window and compare S/N in utility fiield with S/N on the HDD's label. It should be the same!
If drive doesn't allow to read anything from the surface even with donor heads and by Loaded resources from the donor profile then possible issues are:
- donor heads are not fully compatible.
- donor profile folder from the not compatible drive (not matched f/w version for example)
- surface is scratched
- drive has damaged SA modules directly in the service area.

Hy Filipp
Thank you for your answer!
I found a solution on the blog, and according to it, I compare and it is match.
This drive is a single platter-two head drive, and I check each side of the platter, there isn't any scratch or damage on it.
The donor had same f/w version and the different in date code is 7 day, each other details are match. In hitachi drives, Is there any different params what need to match(Like preamp in seagate or microjog in WD drives)? Usually I use donor Drives blog to find the correct donor and usually I also check the controllers on the pcb.
I had another case with the same symptom, It is a HTS545025B9A300. It was very bad condition, but i can made a backup from it, after about 3% readed sector the drive stoped, head goes to park, and when i restart it, the drive was clicking. No scratch, no platter damage. I swapped head, same model,p/n,MLC, date is also very close, about 12 day differen and the drive does the same, long time busy, after ready, full of abr error, read nothing.
I can't find more suitable donor, and don't understand why it isn't read..
I feel myself a bit frustrated.

I am sorry. Where do you check your SN on the label. I think mine is totally different
The NVRAM SN is JS100X6207R5MS
But SN on the label is D32PTKYE
which feels strange
Is NVRAM SN from BIOS chip??? because i might misplaced those 2 chips???
