Hi, my first post there, apologize if not conform.

I've there a ST1500LM006 HN-M151RAD that I thought was BSY, but after about 40/50 sec comes in Ready State.

Then again 4/5min for reading modules table from SA... I'm now backuping HDD Ressources, but it will probabely take the day, and I even don't know at this stage if I'll have sector access, and speed copy.

Does anyone had a similar case ? Any advice welcome.

EDIT : Many ERR/UNC while copying modules, but all seems to be OK until now
EDIT2 : 25min for heads map, now copying head 3 -> quick and fine
edit again : head3 100%. head4 work in progress. Will continue head by head and if a head is to slow will try to get used map.
Last edit : head 3 and head 5 100%, head4 and head 2 50% quick then slow, without errors. head1 and head0 : slow from beggining, reverse also, very few unreadable sectors but some are not read because of delay. When OFF/ON and wait for about 65s (changed in dataextractor also) secrtor become readable. I managed to read filesystem strcutre, and create submab, now reading file by file but veeeeery slow. Will take weeks.

So... still hoping for solution or ideas, thank you for your help.

What is the terminal output?
You can try to decrease the read timeout, it will speed things up but probably give more reading errors, depending on the original problem.

I didn't tried to decrease read timeout because it seems that... there are timeouts, and after each timeout, more or less long moment bloqued with "DRQ" led on, then BSY alone, an then only reading ok.
Until now i'm only on head0 in the beggining of this submap, but reading speed is... 11,7kB/s

Edit : without Head0, all is quite quick (some slow sectors with head1). I'll try to dump all files I can with other heads, and else if you tell me there's another solution, it seems head0 is in bad condition...

Yes, it looks like your h0 is complaining.
Please be aware that a duff head can cause severe media damage, so the safe way here is to change heads before doing anything else. Running the drive with one damaged head can create a big, big mess.

Edit again (and last ) : sorry if that seems to be a noob question but never had to do that before and wonder if there is a way in a submap to list files that are already readed "full" and the ones that has unreaded or error sectors ? Also, is there a way to cross submaps so I'll have a list of files where head0,1,2 are used, and other with head 3,4,5 for example ?

Yes, you can go to "Create submap use legend" and select only white sectors. The created submap will only give you unreaded sectors.
Respectively, Create submap using heads will give you map of sectors belonging to specified heads.
Combining those two you can get the result you want.

That's what I've done, searching by myself, but that returns intervals in sqlite, not file listing, and one could be in both (green and white/others) submap, or many headsmap. So I've wrote a little bash script to extract from SQ3 and get litsting of good files full readed, and we are working on another script that will alocate head reference for each file in a selection.
