We have a Samsung HD400LD drive we are trying to get data from. We connected it to the PC-3000 UDMA. It will not auto-detect but we know the Family name SpinPoint T133.
According to the manual, we need to use a "seagate" com port and connect it accordingly. We did get support from tech support that the terminal is OK however the drive is experiencing another issue and all the lights are on on the bottom "see attached" I am wondering if it may be a PCB issue, which in the mean time I will look into.
Any advice will be appreciated, thank you

Re: Samsung HD400LD IDE
Yes, it is also the same in the manual (see attached). (MA SL CS all engraved on the brown plastic) I have the jumper on the MA pin
We did swap the PCB and BIOS but are not able to get a connection to the terminal to see the error code. The drive powers on and spins when the jumper is removed, otherwise the PCB gets very warm with the jumper in and when I try to access the terminal but no disk spin. It never recognizes the terminal even after I choose the TRIDENT family and locate the model of the drive, I chose PATA and Safe Mode. I have the COM port via usb but keeps giving error "drive is not ready"
I feel I am doing something wrong any help would be appreciated
