Hi there,
I have a case with a ST1000LM025, I failed to find a donnor.
P/N is HN-M101ABB/EX3
Do you ever try to head swap with a ST1000LM024, with P/N are like HN-M101MBB/LC2 ?
Thanks.

You can usually disregard the part after the / (e.g. /EX3). Just find another HN-101ABB with similar date and same country. Not sure about crossing models like that, I've never tried it. However if the date is close and the headmap is the same, it may well work.

You need to make a match against the middle set of 4 digit codes at the P/N, or alternatively place patient pcb on donor and if donor spins then heads are likely compatible.
Also, ST1000LM024 and HN-M101MBB are the same drive. This would work.
