WD600BB-00DKA0 - ROM damaged

Postby jojo2012 » 08.08.18, 08:23

Hi there,
I’m handled this case that comes from another lab.

The original PCB (2060-001159-006) was dead, and I have the donor PCB. Unfortunately the original flash ROM has been damaged, or rather a pin is detached.

There is the possibility of restoring it or rebuilding it from the SA like with the Marvel?....or is this a hopeless case?

Thanks guys for any hint or help

jojo2012 send me a close up of the area where the pin is missing.
Have good experiences with this.

Thanks for the help DigitalSupport. I don’t have a close up of damaged area, I want to do it with a digital microscope. I wanted to try to write a few ROMs of the same drive family as suggested by Amarbir and another guy from another support. These drives do not have adaptive in ROM.

Well, case solved.
Wrote ROM in kernel mode from a drive of the same model in the database and it worked like a charm.
