We got this case. Original ROM missing and no way to find out this one.
In this case, we tried different microcode+ldr but never able to access SA.
Do you have any idea?
Its Sherk_Lt

Shahi,
Before you do this swap heads from ok drive then try atleast possibility of bad heads would not be there

Search a ROM of drive with close Seiral number with your and try, atleast you should reach to SA if heads are fine.

This will not work as these drives implement additional adaptive data for dual actuators in ROM module 4F - without original ROM it is not possible to restore access to data. I am sure a few guys at this forum know more about this than me and possibly have some solution, but I believe chances on this are very very low...

Unlike the Seagate multi-actuator drives, Western Digital has developed dual-stage or multi-stage actuators.
Here are details.

All hope is not lost. It is often possible to recover without the original ROM, but it requires a ROM code from a very closely matched drive. Usually one manufactured the same week will have a good chance of being close enough to work.

The case is still unsolved. Had no way to access. We tried to manage close hdd, but was unable to manage

but not only a firmware version is enough

No, for a drive this new it's more than just the ROM version that must match. But, one manufactured close enough to it can often work. Finding a donor on the other hand isn't always possible. Last one like this I had I couldn't find a close enough donor, but I just tried every ROM in my resources and eventually found one that was close enough to work. It's tedious work, but it's usually possible to find something.

I am looking for close dated drive still... To get the best possible options for the case

ShrekLT does not have dual actuators, but I must admit I mistakenly thought that important adaptives in 4F are dual-actuators related(they aren't) and even probably convinced some people of it.
Nevertheless the adaptives are important and w/o them drive won't read anything. They can be restored but it's a grueling process. There is no way to do it with PC3K.

Yes, that is more correct
