DISK ECU UNSAFE ERROR

Postby inl » 21.07.17, 15:02

Hello everyone,

I'd like to have your opinion on a case I have.

I have a WD1600AAJS-08L7A0 which have only one head. The disk come to ready state after power up but the serial number and the capacity (23GB readed) are not correct.
The SA are de facto on the head 0 in contiguous parts of the platters.

I have make the ressources backup but some modules (especially the translator) are not readed and give DISK ECU UNSAE ERROR, wether in standard reading or in composite reading.
I tested the head, but there is some writing error.

I tried to regenerate Translator but with no success.

I don't understand the meaning of DISK ECU UNSAFE ERROR, but my opinion is the head are almost dead.
So, this is why I'd like to have your opinion.

I attach the log of my operations if he can help.

Thanks by advance.
Max

Hi Maxim,

I just doing the operation you indicated to me. The size reduction of the translator module works but I still get no access to the data.

I don't remember if I mentioned it but the serial number and the capacity are not good in PC3000. I have XYZ in serial number and
23.05GB as capacity instead of 160GB.

I have to say I'm pretty stuck with this case. If you have any suggestion, I take it with pleasure :)

Max
