WD20EARX Don't read data area

Hi everyone.

I recived WD HDD WD20EARX that don't detected.
I tryed clear SMART and Translator regeneration.

HDD is detected in PC3000, but can not read data area.
We can read HDD modual and structure.

First off, I hope you made an SA backup before you ran a translator regeneration. This isn't a Seagate drive you know.

Next thing to do is enter the modules directory and run a check of all modules to see if they all pass checksum.

If all modules read OK with no obvious problems, then probably you have at least one head that is too weak to parse translator, you need to identify and exclude it from active map of heads then soft reset HDD to allow translator to load again.

gmdata, if one head is weak, you can try to edit the head map in RAM in according to this manual: http://blog.acelab.eu.com/ram-head- ... -case.html

Hello,
I have similar problem, 2TB Diablo3S hard disk.
All heads pass HEAD Test OK, initialisation is OK but no data access.
Try to edit Head Map i RAM still no data access. Non of combination or just one head 0 0 0 0 or 1 1 1 1 not help.

hipo, Always welcome. We adding new articles every week. Using the Blog it is possible to solve most of problems with HDD.
